Setup Full Text Search Engine
The Paragon Data Viewer won't have the Full Text Search
capability with a Full Text Search Engine. To assign the Full Text
Search Engine is from the Full Text
Icon in the Menu Bar.
The first time to click the Full Text
Icon for a new project, the Create or Select a Master Index window
appears.
If the Full Text Search Engine has been defined in the Paragon Data Suite, then assign the same search engine to the Paragon Data Viewer by selecting the Select a Master Index option.
If the new Full Text Engine needs to be created, then select the
Create New Master Index option. Then click OK
button to continue.
Before creating the new Index, use Browse ... button to assign the location of Full Text Search Engine and then type Index Name into the textbox. The Index Name is the name of the Search Engine. We can type MASTER into the textbox and call the Full Text Engine as Master Index. Then, click the Create button will create the Master Index.
To select an existing Full Text Search Engine is to select the Select
a Master Index option and click OK
button.
The Full Text Search Engine is a folder containing ARCHIVE and INDEX subfolders. The folder name is the name of the Search Engine. Make sure the folder name shown in the Path Name box before clicking the OK button.
If the Master Index was created and assigned, the Paragon Full Text Master Index Builder window appears.

The new Master Index shouldn't have any text on the left-hand
side list box. To click the Save
button,
then Master Index Path will be saved into the Paragon Data View
project. Then click the Close
button to return the Paragon Data View Setup.
It's possible that the Master Index Path in the textbox is the Master Index from previous project setup. In this case, the Master Index Path must be modified, then use Browse... button to locate the Master Index.
The Master Index always contains two folders and three index files. One folder is the Index Folder. The second folder is the Archive Folder. Three index files are master.ic1, master.ic2 and master.ic3. If the Master Index Name is FTS, then the index files are FTS.ic1, FTS.ic2 and FTS.ic3.
The Path name must include the Master Index Name. After
selecting the Master Index, click OK button and go back to the Paragon
Full Text Master Index Builder Window. To click the Save
button, then Master Index Path will be saved into Paragon Data View
project.
There is a Noise Word table in the Full Text Search Engine. The Noise Words are the words to be excluded from the Master Index. To Edit the Noise Word List is click the Setup Noise Words item in the Index item of the menu bar.
Use Add Word, Remove Words buttons to maintain the listing. Click the Save button to save the settings.
